Klēn® Launches Deep Learning, AI-Driven Mobile App

Fosters transparency of safety protocols for businesses, streamlines customer communications

Klēn® (pronounced “clean”), an AI-driven app that changes how businesses communicate COVID-19 safety measures to customers, today announced Austin, Texas as the first city for the launch of its pilot program.

Klēn’s multi-sided platform centralizes the most accurate, up-to-date COVID-19 safety protocols for business owners, and serves as a database for consumers to self-select their individual preferences and search for businesses based on those requirements. Businesses can log and update their safety measures through the app in real-time, which generates a user-friendly Klēn score based on adherence to those guidelines. It also encourages consumers to share their experiences and feedback directly with businesses so they can adjust their protocols accordingly.

“Despite ongoing vaccine rollout efforts, the emergence of new variants and ever-changing COVID-19 guidelines has created a lingering uncertainty,”said Sol Girouard, CEO and founder of Klēn. “Every individual has their own perception of COVID-19 safety—the public’s varying response to Governor Abbott’s decision to lift the statewide mask ban is a clear example of that. With Klēn, consumers can feel confident about the businesses they go to based on their individual needs and preferences.”

Klēn’s core underlying technology is a deep learning AI platform that aggregates CDC, state, local and industry guidelines, and delivers recommendations for users and predictive business insights. The company is led by Girouard, who is also the CEO of Data Innovation Labs, a full-service data science and decision intelligence consulting group, graduated top of her class at Harvard University, and is a former head teaching fellow for data science at Harvard University’s School of Engineering.

“Throughout the pandemic, businesses have been at the mercy of conflicting information from the city, state and federal level,” said Girouard. “There’s been a burden on the private sector, now shouldered with the responsibility to ensure consumer safety as well as protect their business and employees from increased liability. We want to give businesses the tools to gain more control and foster transparency with consumers, so they can make the best decisions for their business and their customers.”

The pilot program is now available for businesses in the Greater Austin metro area. To activate your profile and begin communicating COVID-19 safety on the Klēn platform, sign up at: klen.io/business/.
