Summa Health & Clearsense Partner to Revitalize Data for Improved Outcomes

One of Ohio’s largest integrated health systems deploys the 1Clearsense Platform to create a longitudinal EHR, enabling comprehensive access to legacy data for better clinical decision-making and enhanced operational efficiency

Clearsense®, a cloud-based data enablement platform company, announced a new partnership with Summa Health, one of Ohio’s largest integrated healthcare delivery systems. Under the multi-year agreement, Summa Health will deploy the 1Clearsense Platform to streamline data across multiple applications, making vital patient information more accessible and easy to use within daily clinical workflows.

“Data is one of healthcare’s most valuable resources, but it is often underused due to issues with end-user access and technology integration. Clearsense is supporting Summa Health in overcoming these challenges by combining legacy clinical and operational data into a unified patient-centric solution.  By leveraging the 1Clearsense Platform, Summa Health will revitalize its data assets to enable clinicians with a longitudinal electronic health record at the point of care while materially reducing IT costs and improving regulatory compliance,” said Clearsense CEO Jason Z. Rose.

Summa Health’s nonprofit system encompasses a network of hospitals, community-based health centers, a health plan, a multispecialty group, an entrepreneurial entity, research, and medical education. To ensure long-term success in providing high-quality, value-based care for millions of patients across the continuum, the organization wanted to improve quality while reducing costs through the enhancement of their EHR, which enabled a comprehensive view of a patient’s health history.

“By leveraging Clearsense’s technology expertise and innovative solutions, we can rapidly provide access to complete patient data, supporting better care coordination and advancing population health management. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in optimizing data enablement and is key to achieving our goals of enhanced clinical outcomes and greater operational efficiency,” said Elbridge Locklear, Chief Information Officer at Summa Health.

The partnership between Summa Health and Clearsense underscores a growing trend across the healthcare industry: revitalized data enablement and IT cost reduction have become top strategic priorities. By adopting the 1Clearsense Platform, Summa Health is positioned to lead the way in transforming how healthcare data is utilized, serving as a model for other systems looking to optimize data resources.
