Abridge tops three categories in KLAS Emerging Solutions Top 20 Report

Abridge ranked No. 1 in “Improve Clinician Experience,” No. 3 in “Improve Patient Experience,” and No. 4 in “Improve Outcomes” in the 2024 KLAS Emerging Solutions Report

Today, Abridge became the first generative AI company to be ranked across three of four categories in the KLAS Emerging Solutions Top 20 Report, which highlights exceptional technology partners based on insights from 49 healthcare-technology thought leaders and executives across the country. The Top 20 consists of the five highest-ranked companies in each of four categories, representing healthcare’s Quadruple Aim—improve outcomes, improve patient experiences, improve clinician experiences, and reduce cost of care. The 2024 edition of the report ranked Abridge first for “Improve Clinician Experience,” third for “Improve Patient Experience,” and fourth for “Improve Outcomes.”

“Ambient listening is actively transforming the practice of medicine; [Abridge] is one of the first technologies that removes administrative burden and improves care at the same time,” said one of the 49 healthcare experts who chose KLAS Emerging Solutions winners.

Abridge automates clinical documentation in real-time using AI. It integrates directly within clinician workflow, reducing the burden and distraction of repetitive administrative tasks. Abridge’s enterprise-grade, purpose-built platform enables clinicians to spend more time tending to patients and less time on paperwork.

“When you free clinicians from the worry and work of administrative tasks, they deliver better experiences and outcomes for patients—and everyone wins,” said Shiv Rao, CEO and Founder of Abridge. “This distinction from KLAS is a testament to the significant progress we’ve made toward these goals while being the only platform to focus on fulfilling the complex requirements of large and oftentimes academic healthcare systems where expectations are high.”

Abridge is the only generative AI platform for clinical documentation that is purpose-built by clinicians and AI scientists. Rigorous scientific research and ecosystem-enriching partnerships with leading organizations like Epic and Wolters Kluwer have laid a foundation of credibility for the safe and responsible deployment of AI that scales across care settings, specialties, and languages.

Abridge was named the No. 1 emerging solution for improving clinician experience, illustrated by a 60% reduction in documentation time, a 40% reduction in burnout rate, and a 53% increase in professional fulfillment. Abridge ranked third for improving patient experience with a 41% increase in clinicians giving undivided attention while providing AI-generated Patient Visit Summaries that give patients a tailored visit summary written at an 8th grade reading level. Abridge ranked fourth in improving patient outcomes, with a proven ability to enable clinicians to give undivided attention to their patients during the visit.

“The 2024 Emerging Solutions Top 20 winners are truly disrupting the market with their innovative solutions,” said Adam Gale, CEO of KLAS. “In many cases, they are not just keeping pace with the rapid changes in technology; they are setting the standard for excellence and driving the industry forward.”

Abridge is rapidly becoming the platform of choice for enterprise-wide deployment at leading healthcare systems across the country, including Reid Health, University of Vermont Health Network, CHRISTUS Health, UChicago Medicine, Sutter Health, Yale New Haven Health System, UCI Health, Emory Healthcare, The University of Kansas Health System, UPMC, and many more. Recently, Mayo Clinic, Epic, and Abridge partnered on a generative AI ambient documentation workflow for nurses. Earlier this year, Abridge announced a $150M Series C financing, which includes a strategic investment from NVIDIA.
