Today AccountsIQ, a leading provider of fully cloud-based accounting software, has announced new additions to its senior leadership team. James Hunter joins as its Chief Financial Officer, and Evan O’Shea has been appointed as Chief Marketing Officer.
Hunter is a CFO with extensive experience setting up and running Finance Functions. A chartered accountant, he previously worked in PwC’s Assurance department, followed by its Finance Managed Services team. As Onboarding and Tech Lead, James successfully onboarded dozens of diverse businesses, with a focus on implementing tech-led process improvements.
In his role as CFO, Hunter will be responsible for managing AccountsIQ’s continued growth, with a specific focus on both data- and experience-led decisions. He will spearhead AccountsIQ’s controlled automation in the finance function, which will be essential as the company continues to scale. Hunter will work closely with the AccountsIQ leadership and will also oversee the Onboarding team, pulling from his vast experience as Onboarding and Tech lead at PwC.
Joining Hunter is AccountsIQ’s new CMO, Evan O’Shea, an award-winning marketing leader with nearly a decade of experience at Sage, managing the marketing function across 13 regions. At Sage, O’Shea was instrumental in the company’s transition to SaaS, spearheading its shift to digital-first experiences and performance marketing strategies in his role as Global Marketing Director. At AccountsIQ, O’Shea will build a data-driven, customer-centric team that positions AccountsIQ as the go-to solution for businesses ready to move beyond outdated systems.
Darren Cran, CEO at AccountsIQ, said: “At AccountsIQ we have significant growth plans and have an excellent senior leadership team to support us on this journey. James and Evan have seen the impact AccountsIQ has on its customers, and I have every faith that they will position AccountsIQ as the market leader it deserves to be as we continue to expand the AccountsIQ Group.”
Alongside the external hires, AccountsIQ has also continued its mission to promote from within. Sinead Brennan has been announced as Product Lead, following her role as Head of Services. Similar to James, Sinead began her AccountsIQ journey as a product advocate, having implemented AccountsIQ in her role as Group Financial Controller at Kefron. In her new role, Sinead will oversee Reporting, External Integration Services, and Product Design.
James Hunter, CFO at AccountsIQ, commented: “AccountsIQ has fantastic people, a great product, brilliant service and is going through a high period of growth which is undoubtedly going to accelerate throughout 2025. The continued development of the AccountsIQ product and service is something I am particularly passionate about as I take on this role. As a company that is dedicated to improving the finance function and the office of the CFO, we deeply understand the challenges that finance teams face, and can give them the tools they need to elevate the financial and business decisions that they make.”
Evan O’Shea, CMO at AccountsIQ, added: “My mission at AccountsIQ is to elevate the marketing function into a growth engine that delivers exceptional value to customers, measurable impact for stakeholders, and a brand that customers trust and love. Importantly, I want the process to be fun, for our team, for the business, and for our customers. By fostering a culture of creativity and innovation, we can deliver award-winning campaigns and create brand moments that resonate with our audience and position AIQ as an industry leader.”
In addition to the expansion of its leadership team, AccountsIQ has also celebrated recognition in several awards, including the Deloitte Fast 50 Ireland, being shortlisted for the National Fintech Awards, and taking the top spot in the TechRound 100. The company has also received 100% customer satisfaction from its most recent customer survey, finishing 2024 with a 95% average across the year.
