ARIS Re-Defines AI-Driven Process Intelligence

  • ARIS integrates AI into several key components to speed up time-to-value
  • Helps customers move from process intelligence to intelligent processes

Software AG, a Software GmbH brand, has launched a new AI-enabled release of ARIS (ARIS 10 SR27), which propels its AI capability into a class of its own. The new ARIS version includes the AI Companion, which is integrated into key functions of the ARIS Process Intelligence suite, enabling faster creation of new content, including process models, and quicker, easier analytics of crucial process data.

The integration of the AI Companion gives ARIS users assistance to speed up model generation, process searches, and the creation of calculated fields for Process Mining, among other functionalities. This means that more people within an organization can now build new processes, analyse process efficiency and quickly obtain actionable insights. When every business is searching for points of differentiation, ARIS is now more equipped than ever to identify and deliver them.

Marc Vietor, Chief Product Officer for ARIS, commented: “All businesses are seeking to make their operations more efficient and protect themselves from risks and disruption. The only way to do this is with a full understanding of their operations. When you empower more people with ARIS, you can move from process intelligence to intelligent processes. You end up with more accurate information for your employees, in your systems, more quickly, and more valuable insights, just when you need them.

“Our pilot phase has demonstrated the speed, accuracy and quality of the business process models which can be created through the ARIS AI Companion. Customers involved in the early roll out were impressed by how quickly they could create high quality content, and the countless hours saved by using ARIS. Even the most sceptical users are being won over because the ARIS Suite makes it so easy to create value for the business,” Marc Vietor continued.

Key capabilities now in ARIS 10 through the ARIS AI Companion include:

  • AI-based process model generation – the Companion generates structured process models from text-based descriptions. Anyone can simply describe the process that they want modelling in natural language and the Companion will build it for them, for example into structured EPC or BPMN. It can then be refined, edited, and added to the model repository, empowering anyone to quickly and easily model new processes.
  • AI-based search – the Companion enables users to query information stored in models within the ARIS repository, without the need for an exact match on keywords. People unfamiliar with a process can easily find out who’s responsible for specific steps within it, for example. Or even ask to identify risks and their mitigation measures in key processes, to easily assess potential resilience.
  • AI-generated calculated fields – allows users to generate code and create KPIs for Process Mining without any need for coding expertise. They can then receive an easily understood analysis.
  • AI-generated visual insights – the Companion empowers business users to transform complex data enquiries into engaging visuals. They can generate a graphical representation of any Process Mining data in the suite, to increase the transparency of key processes.
  • ARIS Process Explorer – allows any user to get actionable insights from the data within ARIS. They can simply prompt ARIS to show detailed descriptions of any variance from established processes, for example. This allows a quick and easy analysis not just of data, but of real-life practices within the organization.

ARIS is now more capable than ever to deliver fast time-to-value, with a comprehensive integration of process mining and analysis/modelling. By introducing AI into the core functions where it makes the biggest impact, it’s not just the ARIS Suite that’s getting smarter, all users are too.

One of the test customers commented: “Firstly, the ARIS AI Companion is incredibly helpful for process modellers who often experience writer’s block. It provides a solid first draft that they can build upon, streamlining the initial stages of process documentation and boosting productivity. Secondly, for our less experienced BPMN modellers, this AI feature is a fantastic learning aid. It guides them by suggesting appropriate BPMN gateways and best practices, such as starting activities with a verb. This not only enhances the quality of their work but also accelerates their learning curve.”

Marc Vietor concluded: “If business success is defined by making the best decisions, then ARIS is going to become every leader’s secret weapon. We have spent this year doubling down on innovation efforts, because we know how much our customers are reliant on the intelligent insights that only ARIS can provide.”
