Leading advisory CPA firm Baker Tilly US, LLP (Baker Tilly) continues its investment in technology and data by appointing Scott Kaufman as chief analytics and data officer. This newly created role will lead Baker Tilly’s data evolution to enhance both client and team member experiences. He will report to Chief Operating Officer Chuck Droege.
“Expanding our data optimization investment adds value in client engagements, improves internal operations, provides better client and market data for new products and services, strengthens risk management and more,” said Droege. “Scott’s methodical and collaborative approach will enable us all to harness the power of data and use it to make informed, thoughtful and strategic decisions.”
In his new role, Kaufman will oversee the data and analytics strategy at Baker Tilly. He will focus on building a data foundation that will grow and scale with the firm and provide a shared language for interpreting data.
“I am thrilled to be leading the way in creating a flow of data communication across our enterprise,” Kaufman said. “Data can be the language that brings teams and capabilities closer together to create innovative solutions and help our clients manage complex processes more effectively.”
Kaufman holds two master’s degrees, one in finance from Marquette University and another in data science from Northwestern University. Prior to joining Baker Tilly, Kaufman was chief data officer at the Chicago Board of Trade (later acquired by the Chicago Mercantile Exchange).
