Beyond Identity Certified FedRAMP Moderate Through SMX Elevate

U.S. federal agencies can now secure their users and data with cloud-native zero trust access management

Beyond Identity, the first access management platform to deliver zero trust optimal identity and device security, phishing-resistant MFA, and identity-based AI defense solutions, is proud to announce the achievement of Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRamp) Moderate authorized through the SMX Elevate Platform. The SMX Elevate Platform is a technology-enabled, outcome-based approach designed to simplify and accelerate the compliance process.

Starting in 2022, the Office of Management and Budget Memorandum (OMB) issued M-22-09 which provides guidance for Zero Trust best practices and mandates requirements that federal agencies must meet. More recently, in January 2025, Executive Order 14028, issued by the White House, mandates that federal agencies and their partners must use “phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication” (MFA) to significantly improve cybersecurity. Beyond Identity’s solutions for government answer both of these mandates with cloud-based Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) and Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM) capabilities that include universal phishing-resistant MFA, continuous risk-based authentication, continuous device security compliance, secure SSO, and identity-based AI defense. The solution enables agencies to meet Zero Trust Optimal Maturity for both Device and Identity pillars as laid out by CISA’s Zero Trust Maturity Model.

“We’re excited to serve the U.S. federal marketplace and provide agencies with a meaningful choice in identity and access management solutions,” said Jasson Casey, the CEO and co-founder of Beyond Identity. “Achieving FedRAMP Moderate through a partnership with SMX Elevate authorization enables us to offer federal customers a compelling alternative that accelerates their adoption of both phishing-resistant authentication and Zero Trust security. Our solution empowers agencies to confidently meet critical security mandates, enhance their overall security posture, and eliminate credential-based threats at scale – without being locked into a single vendor or legacy approach.”

“Achieving FedRAMP Moderate certification is a critical milestone for companies delivering secure and compliant cloud solutions to government agencies. At SMX, we are proud to have supported Beyond Identity through the utilization of our SMX Elevate Platform, streamlining the compliance process to achieve certification within 100 days, well below the typical certification timeline while ensuring they meet the rigorous security standards required for federal environments. Our expertise in cloud security and compliance enables companies like Beyond Identity to accelerate their market entry while maintaining the highest levels of trust and operational excellence,” said SMX Executive Vice President, Rob Groat.

Beyond Identity now enables flexible, modern identity solutions across the spectrum of government and will continue to further innovate government offerings with its FedRAMP Moderate authorization.
