Brandtech Announces New Collaboration with Google Cloud to Integrate Veo 2 into Brandtech’s Gen AI Marketing Platform
The Brandtech Group has announced a groundbreaking collaboration to integrate Google’s cutting-edge video generation model, Veo 2, into Brandtech’s market leading generative AI marketing platform, Pencil.
The integration of Veo 2 into Pencil Pro marks a significant milestone in the partnership as Brandtech brings excellent gen AI tools to marketers. The integration allows brands to access Google’s most sophisticated AI models—including Google’s Gemini models for text generation, Imagen 3 for image creation, and Google Cloud’s ABCD framework for asset analysis—within a single, streamlined interface. This suite of tools, powered by Google Cloud, enables marketers to generate and deploy high-quality, AI-driven content with unprecedented efficiency and scale.
Brandtech’s founder & CEO, David Jones, describes 2025 as “the year of exponential scaling for Gen AI,” emphasizing the transformative impact of Veo 2. “We’re witnessing a seismic shift in what’s possible for brands. By integrating Veo 2, we are providing our clients with the most advanced video generation tool available. The results we’ve achieved in partnership with Google Cloud are staggering, and this is just the beginning of what Gen AI will make possible in marketing.”
Japan Airlines Leads the Way with AI-Generated In-Flight Content
Japan Airlines (JAL) is taking advantage of the partnership, deploying Google’s Veo 2 and Gemini models to enhance its passenger experience. Select flights in 2025 will feature evocative, AI-generated films designed to inspire travelers with breathtaking visuals of Japanese destinations. This innovation turns each seatback monitor into a destination for travel inspiration as generative AI brings a future itinerary to life in seconds, curating a more personalized experience while in the air. This is part of Japan Airlines’ commitment to enhancing the customer experience, the latest way the airline connects Japan to travelers from the moment they step onboard.
The initiative was made possible by the exceptional realism, detail, and control offered by Veo 2, which creates high-quality video from text and image prompts. Google’s Gemini models with Google Cloud were used to script and curate the content. The entire creative process—from concept to final production—was completed in less than 15 hours by a hybrid team from Brandtech group companies Jellyfish and Pencil.
JAL’s Managing Director of Global Marketing, Minako Kent, says: “We are always thinking of ways to help travelers curate memorable itineraries and learn more about traditional and unique travel experiences throughout Japan. The advances in text-to-video through Google’s Gemini models allow us to create content inspired by the incredible diversity of Japan’s destinations, offering a new level of engagement for our customers. The AI-generated in-flight content will debut as a mix of stunning 60-second films and tailored six-second video iterations for YouTube.
Scaling Gen AI for Global Brands
The integration means brands will be able to access multiple Google tools in one interface, together with Pencil’s performance predictions and creative scoring. Additionally, because brand-specific workspaces in Pencil Pro incorporate a RAG-enabled brand library, marketers can be sure that everything generated is compliant with brand guidelines as well as Google’s ABCD framework for video ads.
Moreover, Pencil has integrated new features that mean Brandtech is able to scale not just the generation of marketing assets (text, image, video, etc.) but also the delivery of completed formats, ready for specific channels and connected ad accounts, such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
With over 2 million ads generated to date through Pencil Pro, video creation and editing have emerged as the platform’s most in-demand capabilities. The launch of Veo 2 marks a new era for AI-powered content, enabling brands to push creative boundaries faster and more affordably than ever before.
Will Hanschell, CEO and Co-Founder of Pencil, underscored the impact: “The addition of Veo 2 in Pencil reinforces our commitment to empowering marketers with sophisticated AI, enabling them to produce campaigns that are not only smarter and faster but also bolder and more artistically inspired. The step change in control and quality turns previously impossible ideas into real marketing content in minutes. Japan Airlines is leading the way in applying Gen AI to the travel industry, and we’re excited to see how other brands follow suit.”
In addition to integrating Veo 2, Brandtech and its group company Jellyfish will make Pencil Pro available in Google Cloud’s Marketplace, allowing Google’s clients and partners seamless access to its capabilities.
Brandtech Group Partner and Head of Emerging Tech Rebecca Sykes says: “The speed of progress of Gen AI tools is quite amazing, and text-to-video is going to be completely game-changing because we’re going to be able to make Gen AI TV commercials for our clients of exceptional quality. Veo 2 is an outstanding Gen AI video tool, and we are thrilled to have been able to integrate it into Pencil and bring it to our clients.”
