Taos, a global leader in cloud and DevOps solutions, has announced the hiring of 33-year industry veteran Ken Grohe as its Chief Revenue Officer (CRO). Grohe will lead the company’s global go-to-market organization and help position Taos for ongoing growth in key priorities.
Grohe joins Taos after a 25-year career at EMC, where he was VP and GM of the company’s global flash business unit. He spent 3 years as SVP and GM of Barracuda, helping turn the company from a device manufacturer to a leader in providing public cloud solutions. Grohe also served as CRO of Virident and its acquirer, Western Digital, and was the president of SignNow. More recently, he was the CRO of Stellus Technologies, a division of Samsung, and President and CRO at WekaIO. An international bestselling author, Grohe has served as an advisor to several technology companies, including Zoom and Commvault.
“Having a front row seat to the biggest disruptions in technology over the last three decades, I have consistently seen that ambitious IT initiatives, which offer competitive advantages to the organizations desiring them, often become stalled or never completed,” said Grohe. “The missing ingredient isn’t better hardware or software but rather solutions chock full of expert-level technical resources that can streamline the path to a better business outcome. Taos, with its 82 NPS score, raving fans, and hundreds of certified cloud experts, brings the ROI into your business transformation. I can’t wait to hit the ground running and help a great company become even greater by achieving new levels of growth and innovation.”
Taos helps customers accelerate cloud adoption and constantly drives innovation in its tools and offerings. The company’s focus on automation and flexible tools is supported by its Taos TIV™, their proprietary Technical Interview framework, which enables Taos to objectively measure the depth of its technical team member’s capabilities and map these skills to projects.
“I have known Ken for decades. He is a fantastic Go to Market executive with a proven successful track record that will absolutely help move Taos to the next level,” said Steve Duplessie, founder and senior analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group/TechTarget. “His leadership, customer centricity, energy, and enthusiasm combined with Taos’ killer professional and managed services capabilities in cloud transition and optimization and DevOps can’t help but be a winning combination.”
Over the past few years, Taos has continued to advance its cloud services and capabilities while solidifying its strong market positioning, and the company was recently listed in the Gartner Magic Quadrant in recognition of its performance and revenue.
A significant part of Grohe’s new role will be to drive more strategic partnerships across Taos’ ecosystem. As the hybrid and multi-cloud markets continue to mature and become increasingly complex, Taos’ high-performance talent and growing suite of cloud and DevOps offerings are playing a more significant part than ever in the industry’s evolution.
“Every single member of the Taos team is essential to building our legacy of transformation, innovation and delivering for our customers,” said Hamilton Yu, CEO of Taos. “With each year, we’ve celebrated bigger accomplishments – from our Gartner positioning to our IBM acquisition – with plenty more in the works. Ken’s background makes him perfect for helping Taos achieve a whole new level of growth and impact. I can’t wait to see how his leadership and insight will spur us on.”
