Introduction of Protect+ offers a fully automated, complete email security solution to address challenges faced by mid-sized organizations
Cofense, a global email security company and leading provider of phishing detection and response (PDR) solutions, today announced its future expansion into the mid-size market, supported by the introduction of its upcoming solution, Cofense Protect+. Building off the company’s strong 2022 momentum, Cofense will bring its automated, world-class email security solution to a new market to better defend and protect organizations and their users against email attacks.
Today’s mid-market organizations are faced with expanding cyber-attack surfaces and email threats that are increasing in complexity, while at the same time finding themselves resource and budget constrained. As a result of these challenges, growing organizations may not have the resources necessary to quickly identify and address cyber threats that are continuously threatening their business. In addition, they may find it difficult to effectively run security awareness training programs to help employees spot and report threats immediately.
Introducing Cofense Protect+
To address these challenges, Cofense has developed an all-in-one email security solution that keeps mid-sized organizations protected from today’s sophisticated email attacks such as malware and business email compromise (BEC). Protect+ combines email threat protection, realistic phishing simulations and security awareness training into a single, easy-to-use platform. The fully automated, low-touch platform allows organizations to configure the solution in a matter of minutes and runs with very minimal ongoing management.
Generally available in spring of 2023, Cofense Protect+ leverages a variety of machine learning techniques to continuously evolve in response to new threat vectors. In addition, Protect+ uses data from Cofense Intelligence, whose dedicated team of threat intelligence specialists investigate and analyze real-time threats from more than 35 million global human reporters and the Cofense Phishing Defense Center (PDC). This powerful combination enables Cofense Protect+ to detect and stop advanced email threats missed by traditional security solutions.
“The mid-size market is facing an increasingly unique challenge with cybersecurity that will only grow more complicated as economic uncertainty continues to loom,” said Rohyt Belani, CEO and Co-Founder of Cofense. “These organizations will see fewer resources and tighter security budgets in corporate settings, resulting in subpar security posture and increased activity from threat actors. With solutions like Protect+, Cofense will be a game changer for mid-sized organizations that need a world-class email security solution that allows for rapid deployment, reduced strain on security teams and increased business efficiencies. This automated, all-in-one solution will help strengthen Cofense’s offerings and continue to position us as a leader in the email security market.”
2022 Momentum and Growth
The announcement of Protect+ comes on the heels of a momentous year of growth for Cofense in which the company not only bolstered its product suite, but also its executive leadership with the promotions of Tonia Dudley to Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer, Josh Bartolomie to Vice President, Global Threat Services, and Laura Riviere to Vice President, Marketing.
A key driver of 2022 for the organization was its next generation products and enhanced focus to its real-time, crowdsourced global intelligence network. Cofense Vision, which allows organizations to automatically identify and auto quarantine emails in minutes, saw a 40% year-over-year increase in customer adoption, which in part led to a strong, double-digit year-over-year growth in total global sales.
This expanded customer base enables Cofense to gather an even broader range of threat insights from Cofense Reporter and Cofense Intelligence. From this data, suspicious emails are quickly identified and analyzed, and threats are automatically quarantined and removed from inboxes across the Cofense Global Network, significantly reducing the chances of a security breach for customers worldwide.
In 2022, Cofense was able to auto quarantine and remove a record setting number of threats and phishing campaigns that were missed by traditional email security gateways. Last year, Cofense Intelligence detected 569% more malicious phishing emails and identified 595% more phishing campaigns inside enterprises’ inboxes. In addition, the team also had a 478% increase in the number of credential phishing-related Active Threat Reports published, once again highlighting that credential phishing was the phishing attack of choice in 2022.
Additionally, Cofense vastly enhanced its end-to-end email security product suite with multiple integrations, enhancements and new offerings. 2022 saw evolutions of its PhishMe, Triage and Vision products, and Carahsoft announced that it added Cofense products to its GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS), making the company’s end-to-end email security platform widely available to the Public Sector through Carahsoft and its reseller partners.
In response, Cofense solutions received a number of industry awards and accolades, including Overall Enterprise Email Security Solution of the Year from the Cybersecurity Breakthrough Awards, a 2022 Top Rated Award by TrustRadius in the security awareness training software category, five Cybersecurity Excellence Awards as well as five FISSEA security awareness training awards.
