CyberCNS Names Peter Bellini CEO, Rebrands as ConnectSecure™

Vulnerability management solution will close the “small business cyber gap” with affordable, community-driven model that supports MSPs protecting small and midsize businesses

Managed service provider (MSP) vulnerability management technology firm CyberCNS is capping off 2022 with a new name and a new CEO. The changes reinforce the company’s position as a pioneer in cybersecurity solutions for MSPs working with small and midsize businesses.

To better reflect its mission and serve its fast-growing user base, the company has rebranded as ConnectSecure™ and is establishing U.S. operations in Tampa, Florida. With new CEO Peter Bellini joining the executive team, ConnectSecure will continue to be an employee-owned company focused on organic, independent growth.

Passionate about ConnectSecure’s commitment to helping MSPs build their security practices to protect small and midsize businesses, Bellini joined ConnectSecure as vice president of operations earlier this year and recently made a significant investment in the company. As CEO, he will be spearheading the buildout of US-based customer support and education teams to provide more resources for MSP partners using the ConnectSecure Vulnerability Management™ platform. Since launching in 2021, the platform’s user base has grown to more than 1,200 MSPs providing cybersecurity services to nearly 20,000 small-to-midsize businesses globally.

Small businesses face significant threats from cyberattacks, yet rarely have the tools and support they need to defend their operations:

  • 43% of data breaches in 2019 occurred at small businesses [Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report]
  • 60% of small businesses that are victims of a cyberattack go out of business within six months. [Fundera]
  • Almost half of small businesses surveyed by CNBC said they have no plan in place to respond to an attack [CNBC]

MSPs are on the front lines of the battle, helping to identify and neutralize threats before they result in losses.

“We are a mission-driven company meeting a critical need,” Bellini said. “A high percentage of cyberattacks target small businesses, but most MSP solutions are designed for large enterprises or have pricing structures that exploit MSPs, rather than help them. This small business cyber gap must be closed. MSPs play a pivotal role, and our team feels a responsibility to give them an affordable solution so they can protect the small businesses that form the backbone of the world’s economy.”

According to Co-Founders Srikant (Sri) Sreenivasan and Shiva Jagannathan, the company’s core values and community-focused model have been its north star since day one, an approach to which ConnectSecure remains committed.

“We built our platform in partnership with the MSP community and engage with them every week in our Wednesday community meeting,” emphasized Jagannathan. “That’s how we know we are delivering what they need to protect their clients: a single vulnerability management solution, with a flexible, affordable pricing structure, robust application integration, and the most extensive regulatory protocol library available. When we see other providers essentially price-gouging for separate tools and locking MSPs into multi-year contracts, it just reinforces our belief that we are on a better path.”
