Data Governance Company Immuta Becomes Snowflake Premier Partner

Immuta’s Automated Data Governance Platform and Snowflake’s Data Cloud Can Provide Customers with Advanced Data Security, Access Control, and Privacy Management

Immuta, the automated data governance company, today announced it is now a Premier Partner within the Snowflake Partner Network. Achieving Premier Partner status validates Immuta’s innovative integration with Snowflake’s platform, which can accelerate cloud data and analytics initiatives by automating data security, access control, and privacy protection. Since launching the integration in early 2020, Immuta and Snowflake enable joint customers to securely access and share data in Snowflake’s Data Cloud, in a governed way across departments and with partners, vendors, and customers — without moving or copying the data.

“We are thrilled for Immuta to become a Premier Partner for Snowflake,” said Tarik Dwiek, Director of Technology Alliances at Snowflake. “Immuta’s automated, integrated approach to data governance can bring fine-grained data security and access control to Snowflake customers who deal with large amounts of sensitive data. Snowflake is helping customers mobilize their data and Immuta can help our customers ensure confidence that their most sensitive data is protected.”

Immuta and Snowflake together power secure BI, analytics, and data science initiatives for large enterprise customers and innovative technology companies. For example, The Center for New Data, a nonprofit focused on bringing together massive amounts of sensitive data to help analysts track the spread of COVID-19 and shape public policy and health response, is using Immuta to simplify data sharing while preserving both data privacy and utility. Immuta automates the enforcement of fine-grained, attribute-based access controls and privacy enhancing technologies (PETs) on the Center’s data in Snowflake’s Data Cloud.

“As we add more components in a cloud data environment, the combination of Immuta and Snowflake is much cleaner than any sort of on-prem situation we’ve had before,” said Ryan Naughton, founder, Center for New Data. “The ability for us to manage access controls, deploy privacy enhancing technologies, and rapidly implement novel frameworks of governance for our research teams has been a breath of fresh air, with no management or overhead costs for adding additional cloud solutions.”

“Achieving Snowflake Premier Partner status reflects our commitment to delivering a modern, cloud-native data governance platform,” said Chris Devaney, VP, Alliances for Immuta. “We look forward to continuing to work with Snowflake to help customers maximize ROI from their analytics, BI, and data sharing projects.”
