Deep Genomics Appoints Thong Q. Le as Chair of the BOD

Deep Genomics, the AI-first TechBio organization pioneering a new path for genomic medicines with its AI foundation model platform, today announced the appointment of Thong Q. Le as chair of its Board of Directors.

“Since joining our Board in 2025, Thong has been a trusted advisor and a strong advocate for our vision,” said Brendan Frey, Founder and Chief Innovation Officer of Deep Genomics. “He brings a fresh energy and deep experience supporting the life sciences industry to the role, making him exceptionally well positioned to lead our Board as Deep Genomics continues to advance AI-driven drug discovery.”

Mr. Le joined the Deep Genomics Board of Directors in 2025, bringing more than 20 years of experience investing in the life sciences sector. Throughout his career, he has guided high-impact investments and supported deal-making efforts that have driven meaningful health outcomes. He also serves as investment director and managing partner of the Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) for the Gates Foundation, and chairman of Accelerator Life Science Partners (ALSP), a venture capital firm dedicated to building next-generation life science companies.

As Chair, Mr. Le will help guide Deep Genomics through its next phase of growth as the company advances its internal pipeline toward clinical development, expands strategic collaborations, and further establishes its leadership at the intersection of AI, genomics, and drug discovery.

“I’m honored to take on the role of Chair of the Board of Directors at such an exciting time for Deep Genomics and the broader TechBio industry,” said Le. “Deep Genomics has built a unique platform and world-class team leading at the intersection of AI and biology. I look forward to continuing my work alongside the company as it advances its mission to transform how medicines are discovered and developed.”

Mr. Le succeeds Chip Baird, who served as Chair of the Board for the past three years. Mr. Baird will continue to support Deep Genomics as a non-executive director and will serve as Chair of the Audit Committee.
