Deep Learning-driven Arturo Taps Strategic New Hires

AI-Powered Analytics Provider Hires De’Edra S. Williams and Tom Jones to Continue Expansion Across Property Insurance, Lending and other Business Sectors

Arturo, an AI-powered platform that derives property insights and predictive analytics from aerial and satellite imagery, announced the addition of De’Edra S. Williams and Tom Jones to the newly created positions of vice president of customer success and vice president of sales.

Coming on the heels of the company’s $25-million Series B raise, these new executive hires underscore the aggressive growth Arturo has planned in the near term. With extensive backgrounds in fintech, geospatial data, customer engagement and business development, Williams and Jones will help support Arturo’s continued expansion plans, building out customer success and sales departments that bolster the company’s ability to enhance outcomes for its clients.

“The rise of disruptive technologies within the built environment is changing the way professionals do business, and we are positioned to capitalize on this market opportunity to provide a deeper understanding of physical properties,” said John-Isaac “jC” Clark, CEO of Arturo. “We are proud to boast a technology team that is second to none, but as our client base and solutions expand, it is important to build out our business functions with seasoned executives who will solidify our reputation as a world-class organization. With De’Edra and Tom leading our sales and customer success departments, we are better equipped to attract and serve industry-leading clients, and we couldn’t be more pleased to welcome them to the team.”

Williams comes to Arturo with over 30 years of experience as a customer success and customer engagement executive for companies including SAP Ariba, Salesforce and Wipro Technologies.

“Arturo’s prominence is growing rapidly across the insurance industry, and it’s exciting to join a company at this stage and support its upward trajectory,” said Williams. “From quotes and underwriting to claims, the technology can improve every step of the insurance process, and there is considerable opportunity to increase the value Arturo provides by implementing strategic engagement efforts. I look forward to helping foster an environment that can really delight the customer, while ensuring continued adoption and renewals of Arturo’s solutions.”

Outside of the office, Williams is heavily involved in volunteer work within the Dallas and Fort Worth communities, serving on the board of directors for Big Thought where she is Board Chair-Elect and Chair of the Racial Equity Committee and Reading Partners North Texas where she chairs the Governance Committee.

Jones joins Arturo with a wealth of sales experience in the geospatial data and analytics arena. Most recently, he served as director of commercial imagery sales for Maxar’s Earth Intelligence business, where he and his team supported some of the company’s largest and most strategic commercial accounts. With more than 15 years of experience serving a broad spectrum of customers – from U.S. government intelligence and defense to high-tech commercial companies – Jones has demonstrated success in the type of long-term enterprise account management that is needed to support Arturo clients’ unique needs.

“Arturo’s ability to extract nearly 100 distinct physical features for any property on-demand and at scale is an impressive accomplishment all on its own, but the skills and expertise of the team behind the technology is the clear sign that we’re going to accomplish some amazing things together,” said Jones. “Having worked with jC earlier in my career — and crossing paths with other members of the executive team like Ben Tuttle when he was at NOAA and NGA — I’m confident in the company’s ability to continue to raise the bar for imagery-derived analytics. I’m here to grow our sales team, expand our existing accounts, and bring on new customers across insurance and other verticals. In addition to direct sales we’ll also need to forge new strategic partnerships to help us achieve our ambitious business goals.”

Jones also serves as a Mentor for the Techstars Allied Space accelerator, where he helps new CEOs of startups to create viable, scalable, and sustainable businesses. The program is a virtual accelerator focused on futuristic space technologies, and operates in partnership with industry, defense ministries, and space agencies of several countries.
