Kasten by Veeam is the only provider to receive an exceptional rating across all metrics

Kasten by Veeam®, the market leader for Kubernetes backup, disaster recovery and mobility, today announced industry analyst GigaOm has exclusively named Kasten by Veeam both a Leader and Outperformer in its GigaOm Radar Report for Kubernetes Data Protection for the third consecutive year.

GigaOm analysts ranked Kasten by Veeam in the top quadrant of Kubernetes data protection providers, recognizing the company’s Kasten K10 cloud-native data management platform with across-the-board “exceptional” ratings for all five evaluation metrics: flexibility, scalability, performance, usability and security capabilities. Kasten K10 is a purpose-built platform for Kubernetes that offers backup, restore, disaster recovery and mobility functionality for container-based applications. In the Kubernetes Data Protection report, GigaOm described the Kasten K10 platform as a “mature solution” with advanced features used by cloud and IT administrators and developers across small and large enterprise environments.

“[Kasten K10’s] Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) features and centrally managed policy model are well aligned with large enterprise and self-service requirements,” said Joep Piscaer, GigaOm analyst and author of the report. “Its application-aware data management framework, Kanister, has Kasten- and community-provided blueprints for application-consistent backups.”

Piscaer described Kasten by Veeam’s platform as being “extremely easy to use, with a high-quality GUI, consistent APIs and a handy CLI. Kasten K10 is designed to cope with large-scale environments, but it can be deployed in small infrastructures as well.” He also stated that Kasten K10’s new integrations into Veeam Backup & Recovery™ make it “well suited to protect complex applications spanning container, cloud-native and VM-based deployments at large enterprise deployments.”

“Being named a Leader and Outperformer in GigaOm’s 2023 Kubernetes Data Protection report is a great validation of the work we’ve done to provide customers with the very best Kubernetes backup data management, protection and security protection,” said Gaurav Rishi, Vice President of Product Management at Kasten by Veeam.“Kasten by Veeam is proud that we have once again been ranked in the top category for simple, scalable and secure data management with the flexibility modern enterprises need — a testament to our continued market leadership.”
