Lanner Unveils ECA-5555 Powered by Intel Xeon 6 SoC

Enabling AI-Accelerated RAN and MEC with Extraordinary Throughput and Reliability

Lanner Electronics, a global leader in edge computing and network security solutions, proudly announces the launch of the ECA-5555, a next-generation compact edge server powered by the cutting-edge Intel Xeon 6 SoC, previously codenamed Granite Rapids-D. Designed to empower AI-accelerated virtualized RAN and edge compute applications, this innovative platform delivers superior performance, scalability, and reliability for next-generation networks.

Lanner will demonstrate the ECA-5555 edge server at MWC 2025. Visit us at Hall 5 (#5C86) to see the ECA-5555 in action.

Optimized for AI-Accelerated 5G RAN and MEC
The ECA-5555 is a 1U edge server designed to meet the demanding requirements of telecom edge networks. Engineered with a short chassis and front I/O, Lanner ECA-5555 excels as a Distributed Unit (DU) or Centralized Unit (CU) server for 5G RAN intelligence. Additionally, it serves as a Multi-access Edge Computing (MEC) server for content delivery applications, including media streaming and cloud gaming.

Revolutionizing 5G RAN with AI Acceleration
Equipped with the Intel Xeon 6 SoC, the ECA-5555 delivers up to 2.4x capacity gain[1] and 3.2x AI RAN performance per core gain[2] compared to the previous-generation platform. It also features integrated Intel Advanced Matrix Extensions (Intel AMX) and Intel Advanced Vector Extensions (Intel AVX) acceleration for RAN and AI workloads, as well as integrated vRAN acceleration with Intel vRAN Boost. With support for two 100Gbps QSFP28 ports and 8 25Gbps SFP28 ports, it maximizes vRAN performance while maintaining a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 55ºC, ensuring reliable performance even in the most challenging environments.

Optimized for MEC Applications
The ECA-5555 features a FHFL Gen5 PCIe x16 slot supporting GPUs and NICs. It incorporates Intel Data Streaming Accelerator (Intel DSA), Intel QuickAssist Technology (Intel QAT), and Media accelerator. These technologies optimize resource allocation for high-performance content delivery network applications, enabling ultra-low-latency cloud gaming and seamless media streaming.

“Our collaboration with Intel to develop the ECA-5555 underscores our commitment to advancing AI-accelerated radio access networks,” said Jeans Tseng, CTO of Lanner Electronics. “Leveraging the Intel Xeon 6 SoC’s built-in AI acceleration and Intel vRAN Boost, the ECA-5555 delivers high throughput and exceptional performance. Its rugged design and Intel’s advanced capabilities make it a game-changer for 5G RAN virtualization and MEC applications.”

“In addition to RAN and edge applications, Intel Xeon 6 SoC represents a significant leap forward in supporting media and entertainment use cases, such as virtual desktop infrastructure and live video production, processing and distribution,” said Nagesh Puppala, general manager, Media & Entertainment Solutions Division at Intel. “The processor’s integrated Intel Media Transcode Accelerator and AI acceleration in every core makes Lanner’s ECA-5555 server a powerful platform for low-latency media applications in energy-efficient environments.”

The Lanner ECA-5555 will be available in Q2, 2025.
