Lookout Named a Leader in Mobile Threat Defense Solutions by Forrester

Recognized for Balancing ‘Powerful Mobile Security With Strong User Experience’

Lookout, Inc., the data-centric cloud security company, today announced it has been named a leader in The Forrester Wave™: Mobile Threat Defense Solutions, Q3 2024 report. According to the report, Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security balances powerful mobile security with user experience to provide a strong set of features across the spectrum of mobile security and deep threat intelligence to meet the needs of customers regardless of size or industry.

The report specifically notes, “Reference customers appreciate [Lookout’s] focus on mobile security as well as machine learning (ML) capabilities and the vendor’s mobile-centric threat intelligence.” Also, “Lookout is an excellent fit for customers concerned about the impact of security on digital mobile user experiences.”

The Forrester report also recognizes Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security for its:

  • strong set of features across the spectrum of mobile security;
  • deep threat intelligence capabilities;
  • ability to meet the needs of customers regardless of size or industry;
  • and customized guidance for end-user remediation.

Lookout achieved the highest score in the secure configuration management criterion, and received the highest score possible (5 out of 5) in the application integrity, device health inspection, device impact and user experience, malicious application prevention, phishing defense, privacy controls, threat intelligence and vulnerability mitigation criteria.

With more corporate data now residing in the cloud, mobile has taken center stage as a critical threat vector. In particular, Lookout is seeing a shift away from traditional malware and vulnerability-based attacks as an increasing number of bad actors leverage social engineering, targeting a user’s mobile phone to steal credentials that provide legitimate access to critical corporate cloud infrastructure and sensitive data. This shift in tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs) by bad actors is part of what’s defining the modern kill chain.

In fact, according to Lookout’s recent Mobile Threat Landscape Report, in the first quarter of 2024, the number of phishing, malicious, denylisted and offensive links delivered to Lookout customers’ mobile devices tripled compared to Q1 2023. The Mobile Threat Landscape Report is based on data derived from the Lookout Security Cloud’s ever-growing, AI-driven mobile dataset that analyzes data from more than 220 million devices, 325 million apps and billions of web items.

“In today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape, mobile devices are increasingly being targeted as the entry point for cyberattacks,” said Jim Dolce, Chief Executive Officer, Lookout. “Forrester’s Wave report not only validates the critical role mobile security plays within the enterprise security ecosystem but also affirms our leadership position in the market.”
