MCUSA joins Partners Program of America’s Physician Groups

APG’s Roughly 360 Physician Groups And Their 170,000 Physicians Now Have Preferred Access to Highly Acclaimed MedicareOnDemand To Help Retain Medicare Patients and Assure Continuity of Care

MedicareCompareUSA (MCUSA) announced today that it has joined the prestigious Partner Program of America’s Physician Groups (APG) as an Affiliate Partner. As a result, APG’s approximately 360 physician group members representing nearly 170,000 physicians now have preferred access to MCUSA’s family of products and services. For more than a decade, these products and services have been on the forefront of innovation, protecting continuity of care for seniors while supporting providers’ bottom-line — a win-win for everyone.

Among MCUSA’s products is the highly acclaimed MedicareOnDemand (MOD) (https://medicareondemand.com), an online insurance exchange and resource center that helps ensure patients make informed Medicare insurance buying decisions that uphold strong physician-patient relationships. Through MOD, consumers can easily compare Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Medicare Prescription Drug plans online and can even create a customized shopping experience by entering physicians, medication and preferred pharmacy information. MOD verifies plans accepted by specific providers and offers consumers the opportunity to speak immediately with a licensed insurance agent, either by phone or by scheduling a personal appointment. These agents not only help with Medicare questions and enrollment but serve patient needs for all future Medicare support.

“We at APG believe in the strength of collaboration with our members and partners and are thus excited to make MCUSA’s services available to our members and the nearly 90 million patients they serve,” said Susan Dentzer, APG President and CEO. “Informed patients and consumers are good for everyone, and helping patients navigate among their many Medicare options can only help our members fulfill their mission: providing patient-focused, coordinated care that is accountable for both costs and quality.”

Kerri Lenderman, president of MCUSA Holding Company, says that the kind of trusted information and physician support provided by MedicareOnDemand aligns perfectly with APG’s commitment to clinically integrated, coordinated, value-based healthcare. “We are honored to be invited into APG’s Partner Program and look forward to working with APG’s members to help shape the future of healthcare at a time when the Medicare population is growing faster than ever.” To her point, it is estimated that Medicare enrollment will increase from 65 million to 105 million, an increase of 60%, by 2031 and will double by 2040; more seniors will age into Medicare 2024-2025 than ever before.

“Tremendous consumer confusion and fragmentation is being caused by deep-pocket retailers who are not only contracting and selling Medicare Advantage for a separate revenue stream but are also heavily investing in primary care and other health care services,” says Lenderman. “Through MedicareOnDemand, APG members can leverage the relationships and trust that they have built through the years with their Medicare patients and retain this important asset while doing what’s right for their patients.”

In building MOD, MedicareCompareUSA partnered with the largest insurance agencies, national and regional insurers, call centers, customer engagement and medical management teams and EHR system vendors. Launched earlier this year, MOD has been enthusiastically embraced by an increasing number of hospitals, health systems, physician groups and pharmacies nationwide who have found this to be a powerful way to grow and/or protect the Medicare market share and revenue streams so essential to their success.
