Netsmart myUnity® Achieves CHAP Verification for Hospice Care

Netsmart announces that myUnity, an electronic health record (EHR) purposefully built for post-acute care settings, has officially received verification from the Community Health Accreditation Partner (CHAP), a recognized non-profit accrediting organization approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

This CHAP Verification is significant for the hospice market as it reflects a strong commitment to high standards in care delivery, compliance with industry best practices and adherence to rigorous regulatory standards. By leveraging a CHAP Verified solution, organizations not only demonstrate their dedication to superior patient-centered care but also enhance trust among patients, families and payers. Additionally, this verification serves as a key differentiator for hospice providers, supporting their reputation and operational success while underscoring their commitment to continuous improvement and quality.

To obtain CHAP Verified status, Netsmart underwent a thorough survey confirming that myUnity demonstrates no barriers to compliance. Following this comprehensive evaluation process, myUnity was validated without any required changes, showcasing the effectiveness and reliability of the integrated platform.

“As a leader in post-acute care, we are excited to accelerate the certified technology capabilities of our myUnity platform,” said David Strocchia, SVP & GM of Provider Solutions, Netsmart. “Our CHAP Verification empowers hospice providers using myUnity to deliver high-quality care and supports compliance. We look forward to collaborating with our clients to innovate our platform, maximizing operational efficiency and supporting outstanding patient outcomes.”

The myUnity platform supports the continuum of post-acute care, including hospice, home health, home care, palliative care, assisted living, independent living, continuing care retirement communities and skilled nursing facilities, as well as home and community-based services. Tailored for value-based care, it features advanced interoperability, analytics and user-friendly dashboards, promoting clinical efficiency and adaptability across various payers and payment models. CHAP recognized myUnity for offering key features, including the hospice symptom flow sheet, collaboration forms, secure messaging, dashboards, scales and tools, all designed to enhance care delivery and coordination for clinicians.

“During the survey, our team noted that myUnity performed exceptionally well, highlighting features like the symptom tracker and user-friendly interface,” said CHAP COO Teresa Harbour. “We are pleased to verify a product that demonstrates a strong commitment to optimal care, setting a standard for the industry.”

As the post-acute landscape continues to evolve, having CHAP-verified technology is essential for organizations striving for compliance and excellence in care. Netsmart is currently undergoing verification for home health and plans to pursue CHAP Verified status for home care, palliative care and pediatric care.
