Pearl Launches Imagecheck AI for Real-Time Dental X-ray QA

New AI solution ensures radiograph quality at point of capture—reducing retakes, strengthening diagnoses, preventing claim denials, and standardizing industry-wide imaging performance

Pearl, the global leader in AI-powered dental diagnostics and practice performance solutions, today announced the launch of Imagecheck, the industry’s first real-time, AI-powered dental radiograph quality assurance product. Designed to integrate seamlessly into clinical imaging workflows, Imagecheck provides instant, automated feedback on the diagnostic quality of 2D dental X-rays at the point of capture—helping practices ensure clinical accuracy, efficiency, and compliance before a patient ever leaves the chair.

Imagecheck is Pearl’s latest innovation in its mission to automate and enhance best practices in dentistry. Imagecheck applies Pearl’s advanced computer vision technology to automatically detect common radiographic errors, including cone cuts, over- and underexposure, excessive overlap, missing root tips, blurriness, and faulty angulation. With immediate visual alerts and overlays, clinical teams can retake inadequate images in real time, ensuring that every radiograph captured meets diagnostic standards. Instant feedback from Imagecheck also allows staff to refine their image capture techniques, reducing the overall frequency of retakes to save valuable chair time and decrease patient radiation exposure.

Ensuring high-quality imagery improves diagnostic confidence and provides a stronger foundation for treatment planning, while also supporting medicolegal defensibility and regulatory compliance. Imagecheck also has a direct financial impact: Insurers are likely to deny claims that are supported with poor-quality radiographic evidence, and Imagecheck helps improve claim approvals by ensuring submissions meet payor requirements.

“Radiographs are a foundation of diagnosis, treatment, and reimbursement in dentistry,” said Ophir Tanz, CEO of Pearl. “With Imagecheck, we’re closing a critical gap in the imaging workflow by ensuring that every X-ray captured is clinically sound. This translates directly to better care, stronger patient trust, fewer claim denials, and improved efficiency across the dental practice.”

Beyond real-time feedback, Imagecheck delivers actionable reporting to benchmark performance across offices, providers, or entire groups—helping practice leaders identify training opportunities, standardize imaging quality, and reduce variation. Particularly valuable for DSOs, dental schools, and other high-turnover dental environments, Imagecheck provides objective, data-driven visibility into staff performance and training needs.

Imagecheck is currently available to select customers as an add-on feature within Pearl’s flagship Second Opinion® product. The solution will also be integrated directly with leading imaging and practice management platforms. With Pearl’s regulatory clearances spanning over 120 countries, Imagecheck is available to practices, DSOs and universities worldwide.
