Plus appoints Jon Morrison as CRO to drive global business expansion

Plus, a global leader in autonomous driving software solutions that span from next-generation safety to highly automated and self-driving systems, announced today the appointment of Jon Morrison as inaugural Chief Revenue Officer. Effective immediately, Morrison will lead the company’s go-to-market strategy, identify new opportunities, and spur revenue growth as Plus enters an exciting new expansion phase, defined by new product innovations and commercial partnerships with global vehicle manufacturers, Tier 1 suppliers, fleets and infrastructure providers.

“Jon’s distinguished career in the automotive industry and proven track record of success in driving business growth with industry-leading products and new market expansion across both passenger cars and commercial vehicles is incomparable. I am delighted to welcome Jon to our executive team and to leverage his expertise to create sustained growth for our business,” said David Liu, CEO and Co-Founder at Plus.

Morrison is an automotive industry veteran who has developed, launched, and grown some of the most iconic products in passenger and commercial vehicles during his career, including the General Motors GMT800/900 braking systems, and the WABCO OnGuard collision mitigation system – a first in the North American commercial vehicle industry. He served most recently as President of the Americas for WABCO (now ZF), a vehicle control and telematics firm that he grew from a $200 million business into a $1 billion plus enterprise. Morrison also previously served as president for North America for American Axle & Manufacturing, where he led a multi-billion dollar revenue business focused on the passenger car and light vehicle market. He is a longtime advocate for vehicle automation and transportation safety.

Morrison’s appointment comes on the heels of significant partnership wins at Plus. Recently the TRATON GROUP’s Scania, MAN and Navistar brands announced the selection of Plus as their Level 4 autonomous trucking partner. The partners are already running public road testing in the U.S. and Europe. Plus’s highly automated L2++ PlusDrive and Level 4 self-driving SuperDrive solutions have been adopted by IVECO; that collaboration currently has PlusDrive trucks conducting testing on public roads in Germany. DSV will carry commercial freight for dm on PlusDrive-enabled IVECO trucks in Germany starting this year. Plus’s L4 SuperDrive solution is deployed with Transurban and IVECO to help bring autonomous trucks to Australia. Bosch and Luminar are also partners with Plus to bring highly automated commercial vehicles to market.

“Over the last couple of years of working with Plus, I have been so impressed with Plus’s unique advantage to help transform the automotive market with its talented team and revolutionary technology, products, and partnerships that I came out of retirement for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to serve as their CRO,” said Jon Morrison. “The roster of partners the company is already working with speaks volumes to the strength and potential of the company. The breadth of its modularized software solutions that address different use cases, from next generation safety to highly automated driving and fully autonomous driving, is extremely timely and valuable as the industry shifts towards software-defined vehicles. I am excited to dive in and help supercharge the business to the next level.”
