Pondurance Wins Gold in the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards

Awards Punctuate a Year of Significant Growth and Accomplishment

Pondurance, a leader in Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services, announced today that it has won two Gold awards, the highest level possible, in the 2022 Cybersecurity Excellence Awards. Pondurance won back-to-back Gold awards for its MDR service in the Product/Service category for Managed Detection and Response, North America and in the Industry Solutions category for Technology, North America.

The Cybersecurity Excellence Awards honor individuals and companies that demonstrate excellence, innovation and leadership in information security. With over 900 entries in more than 250 award categories, the program is highly competitive. All winners reflect the very best in innovation and excellence in tackling today’s urgent cybersecurity challenges.

“This is a time of exceptional growth and recognition for Pondurance,” said CEO Doug Howard. “Our solutions are being awarded for their excellence and we are firing on all cylinders, experiencing record expansion across all aspects of our organization. We’re especially grateful to our clients, not only for their business and trust, but for their active engagement with the Pondurance team, resulting in enhanced protection across our MDR and cybersecurity services.”

The two new awards punctuate a year of tremendous growth for Pondurance in 2021 and continuing into 2022, with highlights including:

  • Industry Recognition: For the second year in row, Pondurance was identified as a Representative Vendor in the Gartner 2021 Market Guide for Managed Detection and Response Services1. The company was also featured in the 451 Research Market Insight Report, Pondurance Takes a Risk-Based Approach to MDR, and in Quadrant Knowledge Solutions’ SPARK Matrix report on Managed Detection and Response (MDR), 2021.
  • Personnel: Pondurance has more than doubled its headcount in the past year, adding key new hires across all functions. Most recently, the company welcomed three new executives to the management team: CFO Mike Melka; VP of People Operations Amy Thaler; and VP of Marketing Jimmy Tsang.
  • Product: Continued enhancements to Pondurance’s MDR service, which provides clients with 360-degree visibility across networks, endpoints, logs and clouds; closed-loop incident response; and full data transparency through the Pondurance Scope dashboard. Scope facilitates easy two-way conversations between clients and the Pondurance security operations center (SOC) team, while giving clients access to all of their data, never getting in the way.
  • M&A: The acquisition of advisory and assessment services provider Bearing Cybersecurity, whose cloud-based MyCyberScorecard platform has been integrated into Pondurance’s portfolio of advisory and managed services solutions. In December, Pondurance launched Cyber Risk Assessments powered by MyCyberScorecard, which combines skilled cyber experts, risk assessment processes and an innovative technology platform to enable organizations to build strong, risk-based cybersecurity programs quickly and effectively.
  • Compliance: Pondurance achieved Registered Provider Organization (RPO) accreditation by the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification Accreditation Body (CMMC-AB), and is listed in the CMMC Marketplace.
  • Threat Intelligence: The Pondurance threat research team continued to discover unknown threats and vulnerabilities. This included revealing that the Conti ransomware group was capitalizing on Microsoft Exchange vulnerabilities that could affect hundreds of thousands of systems. The team provides monthly cyberattack round-ups that offer insights into the latest threats and tips for protecting against them.

2022 is off to a strong start with the Cybersecurity Excellence Awards wins. And just last week, Pondurance announced its new Channel Partner Program, which, in its first year of existence, grew to over 130 key partners across North America. Pondurance Director of Channel, Tim Horigan, was also recognized as 2022 CRN Channel Chief.
