RunPod Expands with New Office in Charlotte, North Carolina

AI cloud computing platform taps into booming tech scene, plans to hire 30 employees

RunPod, a leading cloud computing platform for AI and machine learning workloads, announces the opening of its new office in Charlotte, North Carolina. Located at 436 E 36th St., the office will serve as RunPod’s East Coast hub, initially housing revenue, marketing, and account management teams.

The expansion into Charlotte aligns with RunPod’s growth strategy and capitalizes on the city’s burgeoning tech scene. The company plans to hire approximately 30 people to be based in the office over the next 12 months, tapping into the area’s diverse talent pool.

“We chose Charlotte for our new East Coast hub because of the city’s impressive metropolitan growth and its potential to become the next big region for tech innovation,” said Zhen Lu, CEO of RunPod. “We’re excited about RunPod’s growth and the opportunity to contribute to Charlotte’s evolving tech landscape, especially given the influx of professionals from major tech hubs across the United States.”

Lu and his co-founder Pardeep Singh created RunPod two years ago to serve as an infrastructure solution that supports individual and enterprise developers. Its cutting edge technology offers developers affordable access to globally distributed GPU cloud computing services for training, deploying, and scaling AI models.

“With an East Coast hub in Charlotte and a West Coast hub in San Francisco, we are laying the foundation for future expansion, including plans to develop a training hub and center of excellence for customer experience,” said Justin Merill, Head of Staff at RunPod. “We’re looking for people who want to join our growing team that is backed by the biggest names in tech.”

In August, Forbes named RunPod to its prestigious “Next Billion-Dollar Startups” list of companies most likely to reach $1 billion valuation. This came on the heels of a $20 million seed round from the venture capital arms of Intel Capital and Dell.

RunPod’s new office, located in the NoDa district of Charlotte, is part of an Industrious coworking space. RunPod will initially occupy two offices totaling 431 square feet, with expansion planned in conjunction with the onboarding of new talent.
