Scale Computing Named in 2022 Gartner® Market Guide for Edge Computing

Scale Computing, a market leader in edge computing, virtualization, and hyperconverged solutions, today announced it was recognized as a Representative Vendor in 2022 Gartner Market Guide for Edge Computing. Scale Computing//Fleet Manager is included under the list of product, service, or solution names of Representative Vendors for Edge Management and Orchestration.

In the inaugural year of the Market Guide for Edge Computing, Gartner examines the edge computing market and provides an in-depth analysis of the many facets of edge computing solutions, describes how vendors create strategies and offerings to support it, offers recommendations for implementation, and outlines the direction of the evolving edge computing market.

The Market Guide highlights eight submarkets of edge computing, including edge management and orchestration, data center and CDN edge services, edge analytics and machine learning, edge communications infrastructure, edge vertical industry solutions, edge data management, edge computing server solutions, and IoT platforms.

“Edge computing is a rapidly evolving market, but one that will continue to grow as IT leaders across organizations of any size, and in any vertical, need to meet the demand for computing power based where it can be best used – at the edge of a network,” said Jeff Ready, CEO and Co-founder of Scale Computing. “The near real-time response for critical applications is driving this need for edge computing adoption and we’re proud to be recognized by Gartner in Edge Management and Orchestration space. Scale Computing provides organizations with efficient, scalable, reliable, and comprehensive edge computing solutions.”

Earlier this year, Scale Computing introduced SC//Fleet Manager, the industry’s first cloud-hosted monitoring and management tool built for hyperconverged edge computing infrastructure at scale. Available as part of the award-winning Scale Computing Platform, SC//Fleet Manager consolidates real-time conditions for a fleet of clusters, including storage and compute resources, allowing MSPs and IT leaders to quickly identify areas of concern using a single pane of glass, scaling from 1 to over 50,000 clusters. It enables users to centrally monitor and manage hundreds or thousands of distributed edge infrastructure deployments with few or no on-site IT personnel.

Scale Computing provides an edge computing platform that is easy to use, easy to manage, and easy to deploy. SC//Platform brings simplicity and scalability together, replacing the existing infrastructure and providing high availability for running workloads in a single, easy-to-manage platform. Regardless of any hardware requirements, the same innovative software and simple user interface provide the power to run infrastructure efficiently at the edge.
