SenecaGlobal Appoints Senior Director of Healthcare Interoperability

Reinforces company’s commitment to drive innovation for SMBs and large healthcare tech innovators

SenecaGlobal, a global leader in software development, managed services and technical advisory services, today announced that Doug DeShazo has joined its Healthcare and Biomedical Practice, as senior director of healthcare interoperability, bringing over 20 years of extensive experience developing and implementing interoperability regulations and standards in the healthcare field.

In this new capacity, Doug provides integrated technical consulting and architectural guidance to advance SenecaGlobal’s standardized interoperability offerings. Doug is highly regarded as a thought leader in the healthcare interoperability arena, including being a founding member of the FHIR Foundation. In addition, he has acted as a representative to HL7, DaVinci, The CARIN Alliance, Argonaut, HIMSS, Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise and The Sequoia Project. Doug has worked with major providers, pharma companies, independent software vendors, and payer organizations helping with interoperability standards development efforts.

Prior to joining SenecaGlobal, Doug held positions at EPAM Systems and Cognizant, working extensively on the interoperability efforts of leading payers and providers. He has led large-scale health information exchange (HIE) implementations, participated in standards and protocols development, delivered interoperability strategies, enterprise architectures, and product design in the areas of HIE, Electronic Health Records/Electronic Medical Records (EHR/EMR), as well as the application of interoperability standards.
