Senet named a Finalist for CRN’s 2023 Tech Innovator Award

Senet Inc., a leading provider of cloud-based software and services platforms that enable global connectivity and on-demand network build-outs for the Internet of Things (IoT), is announcing that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named Senet as a Finalist for the 2023 CRN Tech Innovator Awards. Senet is being recognized for its Location Estimator in the Edge Computing/Internet of Things category.

This annual award program showcases innovative vendors in the IT channel across 37 different technology categories, in key areas ranging from cloud to storage to networking to security. To determine the 2023 winners, a panel of CRN editors reviewed hundreds of vendor entries -including solution provider testimonials – using multiple criteria, including key capabilities, uniqueness, technological ingenuity, and ability to address customer and partner needs.

Senet’s Location Estimator uses the company’s public carrier-grade LoRaWAN® network and networks deployed by the company’s Extended Coverage partners to provide customers with location logic for asset tracking, location-enabled mapping, and any application that can benefit from estimated presence and proximity detection. It is unique because the end device connecting to the network does not need to be designed with specific geolocation technology, making any LoRaWAN device, regardless of its original intended purpose, location aware.

While many location services require dedicated device hardware and frequent communication with the network which can increase costs and drain batteries quickly, Senet’s Location Estimator leverages the company’s existing and rapidly expanding public LoRaWAN network, including integration with over 870,000 Helium Network LoRaWAN hotspots, to deliver location information. Senet’s Location Estimator derives the location of any LoRaWAN device from the location of the gateway or gateways that relay any uplink message. Location accuracy is dependent on the number of gateways receiving the uplink messages from the device over time. This feature is optimized for applications which do not require precise geolocation and is targeted for use where estimated location data combined with application-specific environmental data meets the use-case requirements.

“CRN’s annual Tech Innovator Awards acknowledge technology vendors committed to new and updated products that are creating the biggest opportunities for the solution providers and strategic service providers working on the front lines with customers,” said Blaine Raddon, CEO of The Channel Company. “Congratulations to each one of this year’s CRN Tech Innovator Award winners. We are proud to recognize these best-in-class vendors that are driving transformation and innovation in the IT space.”

“With total cost of ownership being largely dependent on the cost and battery life of end devices, Senet’s Location Estimator makes it economically feasible for solution providers to explore new use cases where the combination of location and other sensor data can enhance the value proposition of their products and services,” said Bruce Chatterley, CEO at Senet. “It is an honor to be recognized by CRN for the advancements that the Senet Location Estimator brings to general asset tracking, supply chain, perishable food delivery, and many other applications.”
