seqWell Announces MosaiX™ Library Preparation Kit

Novel Directional Tagmentation-based Workflow Utilizes Engineered TnX™ Transposase with Improved Speed and Flexibility for Diverse NGS Applications

seqWell, a global provider of genomic library and multiplexing workflow solutions, today announced the early access availability of the new MosaiX™ Library Prep Kit, designed for demanding applications in human population genomics, such as whole exome and whole genome sequencing (WGS).

“I have been really impressed with the outstanding performance of seqWell’s MosaiX library preparation chemistry. Directional tagging, driven by their TnX transposase, reliably resulted in libraries with high complexity and uniform coverage that provided for more precise sequencing data,” says Massimo Delledonne, Professor of Genetics at University of Verona, Italy. “All this was achieved using an extremely efficient workflow.”

The new product is powered by seqWell’s TnX™ transposase, a high-performance NGS enzyme engineered for improved activity and reduced insertion-site bias that helps enable workflow simplicity without sacrificing NGS library quality. MosaiX is the second seqWell product to incorporate the new TnX enzyme, following the commercial release of ExpressPlex 2.0 in 2024.

The MosaiX Library Prep kit is based on a novel, proprietary library preparation chemistry that results in directional tagmentation using a 90-minute end-to-end workflow, requiring only 45 minutes from genomic DNA to PCR-ready libraries. The kit is designed to robustly address the needs of researchers and scientists who face growing needs for scalable library preparation methods that produce high-quality, uniform data with a rapid, automation-friendly workflow.

“MosaiX combines the workflow simplicity of tagmentation with performance benefits typically associated with ligation-based library methods. Our team has created a versatile product that builds on seqWell’s transposase-based technology to deliver uncompromised performance for a range of NGS applications and instruments,” says Joe Mellor, co-founder and CSO at seqWell. “We’re thrilled by the feedback we’ve received from our initial users, and tremendously excited to work with scientists within the expanding field of human population genomics.”

seqWell executives and scientists will highlight the MosaiX kit’s directional tagmentation technology, and its use of the engineered TnX transposase at the upcoming Advances in Genome Biology and Technology (AGBT) conference, February 23-26, 2025, in Marco Island, FL.
