Spectro Cloud named a 2022 Gartner® Cool Vendor in Edge Computing

The recognition follows Spectro Cloud’s recent Series B funding round close and Palette Edge solution announcement.

Spectro Cloud, a leading provider of a modern Kubernetes (K8s) management platform, today announced today it has been identified as a Cool Vendor in the “Cool Vendors™ in Edge Computing” report by Gartner, Inc, first published on May 23rd, 2022. Gartner identifies four vendors in the 2022 Cool Vendors report.

Spectro Cloud’s Palette platform enables organizations to deploy, manage and innovate with Kubernetes at scale, without having to choose between control and flexibility. Palette’s Edge edition is a result of extending the core Palette platform to meet the specific needs of edge solution delivery and management across thousands of locations.

Edge is a prime growth area for Kubernetes-based applications, but is challenging for organizations to manage because of the sheer number of locations, often in the thousands or tens of thousands, and lack of Kubernetes skills or even generic IT skills on-site. Edge locations may also have limited compute resources and often unreliable connectivity, presenting an additional challenge.

Palette Edge directly addresses those challenges and offers unified management for unsupervised edge locations based on a unique decentralized architecture. With Palette, edge Kubernetes locations can use any Kubernetes distribution and pre-validated combination of open source or commercial packs, empowering development teams to support diverse application requirements in a repeatable model. Palette Edge makes the economics of edge work for organizations by eliminating the need for field engineer visits and streamlining every operational step from day 0 to day 2.

“We believe our inclusion in the Cool Vendors report by Gartner reflects the need for an easier and very importantly a more cost-efficient way for organizations to deploy and manage thousands of locations without having to be experts in Kubernetes,” said Tenry Fu, Spectro Cloud co-founder and CEO. “The innovation we are seeing coming out of real industry use cases is impressive and we are committed to continuously supporting our customers and making Kubernetes and its ecosystem more accessible and manageable.”

We believe this recognition — along with Spectro Cloud’s recent Series B funding round close — reaffirms the growing market momentum around Kubernetes, and our vision of Kubernetes management at scale.
