Suki First to Integrate Ambient AI with MEDITECH Expanse Documentation APIs

The expanded integration streamlines workflows, making AI more accessible to healthcare organizations of all sizes

Suki, the leader in artificial intelligence (AI) technology for healthcare, announced its expanded integration with MEDITECH, a trusted EHR platform transforming healthcare that offers one of the leading electronic health record (EHR) systems. This integration enables Suki to be the first to generate and send ambiently generated clinical notes directly into MEDITECH’s Expanse EHR, making the product easier to use for clinicians. Suki Assistant seamlessly combines ambient clinical documentation with AI dictation, alleviating some of the time-consuming administrative tasks associated with clinical practice that are burdening clinicians.

Suki’s initial partnership with MEDITECH, announced in September 2024, marked a pivotal moment by introducing ambient clinical documentation plus in-Expanse dictation to MEDITECH health systems, which has grown to over 20 enterprise health systems. Ambient clinical documentation allows clinicians to create notes representing a patient encounter seamlessly. And by integrating a robust voice-to-text capability into the EHR, clinicians are also able to swiftly and accurately dictate into any field, streamlining their workflow and enhancing the quality of documentation. This content now shows up in the MEDITECH Expanse EHR without any copy and paste required.

Over the past year alone, Suki Assistant has been used in over 100k patient encounters and supported more than 1000 providers using MEDITECH Expanse—clear indicators of the tangible impact on healthcare operations. This success has not only alleviated clinician workload, but has also set the stage for deeper, more innovative collaborations. The enhanced integration between Suki and MEDITECH is driving some exciting advancements. Among these are the ability to generate orders ambiently, further reducing administrative burdens, and MEDITECH’s upcoming integration of Suki into its Expanse Now mobile app. Additionally, this partnership will extend AI support to a broader range of healthcare professionals, including nurses and home care staff, ensuring that all members of the care team have access to cutting-edge technology that enhances efficiency and patient care.

“At Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, our mission is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care close to home,” said Dr. William Dailey, Chief Medical Information Officer at Golden Valley Memorial Healthcare, one of the early adopters of Suki’s integration with MEDITECH Expanse. “This integration directly supports our mission by easing the documentation burden on our providers and giving them more time to focus on what matters most. This technology not only streamlines workflows but also enhances the quality and continuity of care we deliver throughout our rural communities.”

This integration comes at a pivotal time in the medical field, as the demand for time-saving tools rapidly grows. New data from the Peterson Health Technology Institute highlighted the impact of AI scribes, showing a 63 percent reduction in clinician burnout. To date, Suki has helped reduce clinical time spent on tedious tasks like clinical documentation, enabling users to reduce time in note by 41 percent.

“By partnering with proven AI leaders like Suki, we are helping our customers extend the value of their foundational Expanse EHR with innovative solutions that fit seamlessly into their daily workflows,” said MEDITECH Chief Business Development Officer Jim Merlin. “Integrating Suki’s ambient intelligence technology into our Expanse platform offers our customers a transformative, easy-to-use solution that can help them improve efficiency and the clinician experience.”

“Achieving full integration with MEDITECH is a defining moment—not just for Suki, but for the future of AI in healthcare. It’s proof that truly assistive technology can integrate seamlessly, scale effortlessly, and deliver real impact for any health system—big or small, urban or rural,” said Punit Soni, CEO and Founder of Suki.

This integration is the latest proof point in Suki’s rapid expansion across major EHR platforms, reinforcing its position as the category leader in ambient healthcare AI. Following the launch of the industry’s first capability to generate and stage prescription orders directly from ambient visits, Suki continues to set the pace for innovation in clinical efficiency. These milestones reflect a bold commitment to redefining healthcare technology—empowering clinicians to reclaim their time and refocus on what matters most: patient care.

With Suki’s integration into MEDITECH, more health systems—regardless of size or location—now have access to cutting-edge AI technology that seamlessly fits into their existing workflows, reinforcing both efficiency and clinician satisfaction.
