Tufin Adds Jeffrey Spear as CISO

Company Continues Investment in Leadership Team by Adding Industry Veteran with Years of Experience Building and Implementing Cybersecurity Programs

Tufin, the leader in network and cloud security policy automation, today announced that it has named Jeffrey Spear as the company’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Spear brings over 15 years of experience building and leading security programs across enterprise software, healthcare, and financial services to his new role as Tufin’s CISO.

Properly managing security posture across the scope of an organization’s constantly expanding network environment is becoming increasingly difficult. With scattered and silo-operated fragments commonplace in today’s enterprise networks, visibility is at an all-time low. Tufin solves this by providing teams with a single view of the complete network – one that allows security and operations teams to work together and finally regain control.

“Security teams across every industry are faced with more network complexity than they have ever seen before. The convergence of on-premise and cloud environments combined with endless network expansion has made it difficult to easily understand exactly what is connected to your networks – and has made it nearly impossible to properly manage it,” said Spear. “Tufin’s platform gives security teams what they’ve been missing – visibility and control that can adapt to evolving needs, and evolving networks. I’m excited to work with customers and help them quickly realize the value of their Tufin implementations.”

Most recently, Spear served as Senior Director of Application Security at Emburse, where he architected and scaled a modern application security program supporting hundreds of developers across global cloud-native environments. His leadership helped drive enterprise-wide adoption of secure development practices, automated security tooling, and vulnerability management aligned to business risk.

Prior to that role, Spear was Senior Director of Technology Services and Information Security Officer at AlerisLife, a publicly traded organization focused on senior living and wellness. There, he led cybersecurity and IT operations during a period of digital transformation, with oversight of cloud migration strategy, incident response, business continuity, and internal compliance readiness.

“Jeffrey has successfully designed and led security programs in both regulated and fast-scaling environments, which will be a tremendous benefit to Tufin,” added Raymond Brancato, CEO of Tufin. “His direct field experience and firsthand knowledge of the issues and complications that security professionals face every day will be instrumental in driving our own security strategy and ensuring we lead by example in today’s evolving threat landscape.”

Earlier in his career, Spear was at Eze Software, a fintech provider supporting institutional investment workflows. While there, his hands-on work in application security and regulatory alignment helped solidify foundational controls across a global software platform.
