Wind River®, a global leader in delivering software for the intelligent edge, today announced it once again topped the global real-time operating system (RTOS), commercial Linux, and IoT and embedded OS categories, according to the latest VDC Research report, “IoT & Embedded Operating Systems.” The findings underscore the continued worldwide market leadership of the company’s edge OS platforms, including VxWorks®, Wind River Helix Virtualization Platform and Wind River Linux.
Wind River is also included as a leading vendor in VDC’s recent “Edge AI Development Solutions” report, ranking top three within the competitive landscape of companies providing edge AI development tools and related services.

- RTOS global revenues at 32.8%, followed by the next vendor at 17.3%
- Commercial embedded Linux global revenues at 39.9%, followed by the next vendor at 10.3%
- IoT and embedded OS global revenues at 28.9%, followed by the next vendor at 13.5%
