Snowplow, the global leader in behavioral data creation, today announced the leadership appointments of John Piekos as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Ari Daskalakis as Vice President of Global Sales Engineering. Snowplow unlocks behavioral data at scale, enabling any organization to create the richest possible data asset and power advanced analytics and AI use cases.
“I am delighted to welcome two such experienced technical and commercial leaders to Snowplow,” said Alex Dean, CEO and co-founder of Snowplow. “I look forward to working with them both closely to realize our vision of changing the way organizations create data to power analytics and AI applications.”
Piekos has over 25 years of experience in building, leading and scaling high-performance data products and platforms. Previously, Piekos was the Senior Director, Engineering at Cloudera following their acquisition of Cazena, leading a global team delivering fully managed SaaS Data Lakes, real-time analytics and machine learning applications across AWS and Azure. Before joining Cazena, Piekos was the Vice President of Engineering and Chief Security Officer at VoltDB.
“Snowplow is known for its innovation in driving significant business value with behavioral data, which is resonating in the market. I look forward to building on this momentum and delivering even greater value to our customers and partners through our engineering strategy,” said Piekos.
Daskalakis has more than 33 years of sales engineering and management experience. Prior to joining Snowplow, Daskalakis was Senior Manager of Solutions Architecture at AWS, covering mid-enterprise accounts in the New England region. In addition, Daskalakis was previously VP, Global Sales Engineering & Services at Sqrrl (acquired by Amazon), and VP, Global Sales Engineering at Vertica Systems (acquired by HP).
“The ability to create your data to drive analytics and AI/ML is a game changer. That’s why I am excited to join Snowplow’s world-class team who are driving the future of data creation,” said Daskalakis. “Creating a culture of innovation and technical excellence is the foundation of Snowplow, and I look forward to building on that.”
The recruitment of Piekos and Daskalakis reflects the continuing expansion of Snowplow’s transatlantic leadership team, since opening the Boston office as Snowplow’s HQ2 in July of last year. “I brought Snowplow to Boston to take advantage of the exceptional local tech talent, including in deep infrastructure engineering, ML & AI, and enterprise software selling. I am delighted to see Ari and John, two highly seasoned software executives, join forces with Snowplow for this next chapter in the company’s growth,” said Christopher Lynch, Chairman of Snowplow.
