CrowdStrike named a Leader in External Threat Intelligence Services

CrowdStrike received the highest ranking of all vendors in the Current Offering category, with the highest score possible in 16 criteria, surpassing all other vendors evaluated in the report

CrowdStrike (Nasdaq: CRWD) today announced it has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: External Threat Intelligence Service Providers, Q3 2023 report1. The new report covers the 12 most significant players in the space, with CrowdStrike receiving the highest ranking of all vendors in the Current Offering category.

In discussing CrowdStrike’s strengths, the Forrester report points to CrowdStrike’s ability to bring together trillions of telemetry events gleaned from platform customers with human insights derived from its elite frontline teams, stating: “CrowdStrike supplements traditional public open sources and underground sources of intelligence with telemetry from its established Falcon® Platform customer base, lessons learned from 500-plus incident response engagements and experience gained by the Falcon OverWatch Threat Hunting teams.”

The report also touches on CrowdStrike’s use of AI in simplifying intelligence consumption and speeding intelligence-driven responses, noting “CrowdStrike is best known for its finely crafted human-written reports with an extensive adversary library plus the operational efficiencies delivered through the Falcon platform. CrowdStrike is researching and implementing large language models (LLMs) and generative AI to help customers more easily consume all the written intelligence they produce while they continue to expand automation workflows.”

It goes on to state that, “Reference customers find CrowdStrike’s endpoint telemetry compelling, and they rely on the detailed TTPs in threat reports to drive fruitful threat-hunting exercises.”

“Today’s adversaries are only getting faster and more sophisticated with their tradecraft, and their motives are rapidly shifting beyond the commonly understood norms of the past few years. The best way to protect customers is to help them rapidly turn new threat intelligence into an actionable defense – acting as a force multiplier to their own intelligence analysts, arming threat hunters, and giving them the unfair advantage of an AI-powered platform,” said Adam Meyers, head of intelligence at CrowdStrike. “CrowdStrike’s comprehensive intelligence collection strategy — with the AI-powered Falcon platform telemetry at its core — combined with our elite threat hunters and world-renowned incident response team gives us the ability to glean unique insights and rapidly action threat intelligence in ways that no other vendor can match.”

CrowdStrike Falcon Intelligence received the highest score possible in 16 criteria, surpassing all other vendors evaluated in the report. Some of those criteria include:

  • Current Offering: Analysts Tradecraft Expertise, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Dissemination, Gathering Intelligence Requirements, Technical Sources, Human Services and Sources, Profiling and Attribution
  • Strategy: Innovation, Roadmap, Partner Ecosystem, Community

CrowdStrike Falcon Intelligence is the only leading intelligence offering on the market to benefit from the combination of the world’s best threat intelligence analysts, an elite threat hunting team, real-time incident response data and trillions of telemetry events coming into the AI-powered CrowdStrike Falcon platform. This collective intelligence is continuously fed back into the Falcon platform to deliver automated and actionable threat intelligence insights, powering the company’s broad cybersecurity portfolio and arming CrowdStrike’s elite OverWatch managed threat team.
