ModMed ranked #1 for Nine Specialty-Specific EMR Systems-Black Book

Health IT company recognized for EMRs in dermatology, ENT, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, pain management, plastic surgery — and for the first time — podiatry and urology.

Healthcare technology leader ModMed® today announced that nine of its specialty-specific electronic health record (EHR) systems ranked first on the Black Book™ Physician Practice & Ambulatory Solutions top EHR lists, including:

#1 gastroenterology EHR – 12 consecutive years

#1 dermatology EHR – 9 consecutive years

#1 otolaryngology EHR – 8 consecutive years

#1 plastic surgery EHR – 7 consecutive years

#1 ophthalmology EHR – 6 consecutive years

#1 orthopedic EHR – 5 consecutive years

#1 pain management EHR – 2 consecutive years

#1 urology EHR – the first year

#1 podiatry EHR – the first year

“In these tough times in medical practice, we need all the help we can get, and ModMed delivers a really polished EMR product that feels like something out of the future. It provides a more uplifting experience and less of a burden compared to some of the other EMRs I have used in the past,” said Sijo J. Parekattil, MD, Medical Director at Avant Concierge Urology in Winter Garden, Florida.

Michael Reed, DPM at Western Montana Foot & Ankle shared, “I really like the comprehensive plans to choose from and setting up protocols is easy, which in turn speeds up documentation. My documentation time has improved by at least 25-50%.”

ModMed also ranked #1 for Solo Physician Surgical Practices EHR (All Surgical Specialties) for a third consecutive year and #1 for Practice Management Solutions (All Surgical Specialties/All Practice Sizes) for a second year in a row.

“These top rankings across our entire portfolio reflects our commitment to helping physicians save time so that they can deliver quality care,” said Michael Sherling, MD, MBA, chief medical and strategy officer and co-founder of ModMed. “We’re fiercely proud of these accomplishments year over year and thrilled to be recognized this year for the first time in urology and podiatry.”

Black Book Research is recognized internationally for accurate, impartial customer satisfaction surveys. The research company offers the largest user opinion poll of its kind in healthcare IT. Each year, the research company conducts a six-month user poll to determine the highest ranked Electronic Health and Medical Record software systems. Over 800,000 EHR users were invited to participate in this year’s survey, and nearly 16,000 validated respondents shared their views.

“We found there’s a continued trend toward EHRs that are specialty-specific and that offer integrated RCM, interoperability and analytics,” said Doug Brown, Managing Partner of Black Book. “ModMed’s EHR continues to evolve and speak to the needs of providers who look to technology to reduce administrative burden and allow them to focus on the critical demands of providing care.”
