Patient Engagement/Monitoring

Vitalacy Adds Chris Hermann, Clean Hands Founder, to Board

Vitalacy, Inc., a leading innovator in AI powered patient safety solutions and remote monitoring, is proud to announce the appointment of Chris Hermann, PhD, MD, founder of Clean Hands – Safe Hands (CHSH) and internationally recognized patient safety expert, to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Hermann brings over twenty years of healthcare technology expertise, clinical insight, and entrepreneurial leadership to Vitalacy. As founder and former CEO of Clean Hands – Safe Hands (CHSH), he developed and commercialized a hand hygiene monitoring system used by hospitals across the country to improve compliance and reduce healthcare-associated infections. Under his leadership, he grew the company from the earliest research of the technology to a national leader before a successful exit of the company.

“We are honored to welcome Chris to the Vitalacy Board,” said Janel Raanan, CEO and Cofounder of Vitalacy. “His deep experience in infection prevention technology and his passion for improving patient outcomes align perfectly with our mission. Chris’s addition strengthens our leadership team as we forge partnerships with major innovators and health systems.”

Vitalacy recently announced the Gen5 Wearable to enhance its hand hygiene compliance monitoring system. Hand hygiene opportunities and events are monitored when entering or exiting patient care areas. If a hand hygiene moment is missed, the Gen5 offers a gentle private vibration to the care provider to encourage hand hygiene. Vitalacy also offers a solution without a private reminder. Vitalacy customers have seen a reduction in infections across their hospitals.

“I’m honored to join the team focused on the future of infection prevention and patient care,” shared Dr. Hermann, “I look forward to working to expand the clinical impact of the company’s platform and lead the way with the incorporation of true AI driven patient care.”

Earlier this year, Vitalacy launched the Vitalacy AI Virtual Sitter to monitor and alert staff of unattended bed exits. Its integration of stereo cameras, advanced AI learning, and automated patient bed detection capabilities allow for highly accurate monitoring, reducing false alarms and ensuring timely interventions. The stereo cameras provide precise depth perception, while the AI-driven learning continuously adapts to patient behavior to reduce patient falls.
