Conversational Texting Platform Drips Names Greg Williams to Board

Drips, the founders of Conversational Texting®, today announced the appointment of Greg Williams to its board of directors. Drips’ AI-powered platform enables brands to engage with their audiences through Conversational Texting® and scheduled calling. Williams will advise on strategy, expansion and product innovation as Drips harnesses its rapid growth as the industry leader in AI-powered SMS messaging.

This appointment follows a significant investment from Accel-KKR, a leading technology-focused investment firm. Accel-KKR is one of the most active private equity investors in software globally, having closed 300+ software investments and acquisitions in the firm’s twenty-year history.

As Managing Director of Accel-KKR, Williams has served on the boards of successful martech software companies including Episerver, now known as Optimizely (acquired by Insight Venture Partners in 2018 for $1.2B), Zinc Ahead (acquired by Veeva (NYSE: VEEV) in 2015) and Cendyn (a current Accel-KKR portfolio company). Along with these horizontal software leaders, Williams has strong experience advising companies with vertical focuses in healthcare such as ESO (acquired by Vista Equity Partners in 2021), Patientco (definitive sale agreement signed with Waystar) and Cielo (acquired by Permira Equity in 2018).

“We are excited to have Greg join Drips’ Board of Directors,” said Aaron Christopher (A.C.) Evans, Drips’ CEO. “He and the team at Accel-KKR have successfully partnered with a number of software companies on their journey to achieve scale. I am confident that Drips will benefit from their collective experience, network and resources as we look to expand.”

“Even as SMS quickly grows to become a ubiquitous customer engagement tool for brands and marketers, Drips delivers a differentiated solution,” said Greg Williams, Managing Director at Accel-KKR. “Their conversational AI, backed by a natural language processing model that doesn’t exist anywhere else, keeps consumers engaged through their entire lifecycle while maintaining a consistent brand experience. The Drips team is smart, motivated and highly focused on delivering a great solution for their clients. The team and I at Accel-KKR look forward to helping them capitalize on their forward momentum.”
